Ryan's first birthday . . .

Cake

Well today marks my last major event of the season.  Ryan's first birthday was yesterday and today we had planned a party with family & friends.  Unfortunately Ryan has been very sick recently with RSV so we had to call off the party and keep it to just our immediate family.  Of course I had bought food for 45 and only had 15.  I will be eating stuffed shells for weeks!  Ryan was pretty much miserable all day but put in a good showing.  Finally got him off to bed about an hour ago - I could sleep for days since he was up all last night!  Flashbacks to when he was 2 months.  I can't believe he is already a year old - time flies so fast.

Presents

I am hoping to get my work room together this week & work on my courses for My Creative Classroom.  I hope I'll be able to get it all together in time :)  I'm feeling a bit behind these days - it is hard to get anything done with Ryan sick.  The doctor says it will take 2 to 2 1/2 weeks to run its course - longer if he ends up with an ear infection.  Keeping my fingers crossed for a speedy recovery!

Check out this new chipboard from Scenic Route - a little thinner than Cosmo Cricket & Basic Grey chipboard but I like the fact that it is inexpensive and each pack contains a variety of sizes/shapes for each theme.  I think this will be great for kits when I teach classes.  Check it out at www.scenicroutepaper.com .  They have arrows, stars, squares, ovals, circles, and hearts.  I bought the heart chipboard below:

Looking forward to posting some new projects I've been working on soon.  Happy Saturday!

No music pick today - sorry!

Merry Christmas!

Well it is officially Christmas Day & of course I am still up.  I began a project 2 days ago that should not have been left to the last minute :)  I am just finishing up 10 photo calendars for my family members.  They turned out so cute - I can't wait to give them!  Merry 1st Christmas to my little Ryan - isn't he a cutie?

I wanted to post some pics of my scrapbook room in progress.  The floor tiling is finally finished!  Here is the room (the other half is hard to see because of the door) - a blank canvas . . .

Here is my hubby (he's still up god bless him) putting together shelving.

Unfortunately no new scrapbook creations to post today - hopefully later this week!  Have a wonderful holiday!

Starting Over . . .

I have been away from blogging for over a month - sorry!  I switched blog sites - I left Blogger for Typepad.  Lots of cool features, still trying to figure it all out.  I have not scrapped in forever - so busy with the holidays!  Can't wait to get my hands on some patterned paper, stamps, punches, eyelets, brads, . . .  Guess what - my NEW scrapbook room is under construction.  My Christmas gift from the hubby.  He is tiling the floor this weekend & then I will need to get some shelving going on.  I am hoping to start running some classes in there starting this February.  I wish it would snow for Christmas - www.weather.com says no.  The layout below shows a snow here in  2005.  How I wish we had that now . . .

I attempted a gingerbread house the other night - no luck - I was impatient & it kept collapsing.

My brother had better luck with his.

If you had one wish for Christmas what would it be?  My wish would be time - time to enjoy life.  It seems the days are so busy with so much of this & that I forget to just stop & enjoy my life.  To think about all the things I should be thankful for . . .
